date night at the World Series

Last week, I got the surprise of my life. Thursday was my birthday and Game 2 of the World Series was scheduled in Boston. My mother-in-law surprised us with tickets to the game for the mister and me!

Of course, it was sad to be away from Maggie for the evening, but we made sure to get a family photo with her in her Red Sox onesie before we left. Even though she goes to bed at 7 o'clock, I dislike not being home. Hopefully, she'll forgive me in years to come.

Before going to the game, we went to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

I always love a trip to Fenway Park, but the energy in the ballpark during the World Series is unlike anything I've experienced before. I was happy to see we were surrounded by Sox fans once we got to our seats. We sat on the first base line, behind Pesky's Pole.

Despite the Red Sox loss that night, it was seriously a great surprise and special way to celebrate my birthday.  I will always remember our date night at the World Series.
