Ever since I made the super easy polka dot onesie, I have been trying to figure out more ways to use fabric markers. Seriously, they are so easy to use! Why not come up with more uses for them?
That's when I thought of the diaper bag/luggage tag. I have tons of scrap fabric around and a lot of it is pretty cute. I had made a tag for Maggie's diaper bag out of some card stock, but it quickly got bent and tattered looking. A fabric tag would be more durable.
To make the diaper bag/luggage tag you will need:
- fabric marker(s)
- fabric of choice
- hole punch
- scissors
- contact paper (optional)
I simply cut out two pieces of fabric in a heart shape. On the side I wanted writing, I used a fabric marker to write my daughter's name. Then I mounted one heart face down on contact paper, layering the other heart on top and covered with contact paper. I trimmed the edge to the desired size and then finished with a hole punch, so I could use yarn to fasten the tag to her diaper bag.
I also made one to use a luggage tag with my initials on it. I secured a business card to the reverse side. Next time I travel for work, I have a cute luggage tag to accompany my suite case!
