a Boston shower for Baby G

Several weeks ago, my dear friends hosted a baby shower for me. I felt absolutely spoiled! And I can't believe how long it's taken me to get this post together.

Instead of games, we painted blocks for Baby G. They turned out to be so colorful and I can't wait to see our little one play with them someday!

We ate a lovely brunch complete with quiche, salad, yogurt parfaits and biscuits.

Guests were asked to bring a children's book in place of a card to jumpstart Baby G's library. I loved seeing which books friends chose.

One friend brought a whicker suitcase full of books since she knows Baby G's dad is an avid reader.

Another friend told her almost four year old son, she was going to a baby shower. He asked "what's that?" so she explained it was a party before a baby is born. The next day before she left for the shower, her son said "Mommy, have fun at the baby bath!" So cute!

I was so blessed to be surrounded by friends I've know for the nearly five years I've been living in Boston: former roommates, my husband's classmates and neighbors. It was truly a special group of ladies!

The decorations were made to match the crib bedding, so I could reuse them in the nursery. See the dot garland behind us? It's now hanging in a window in the baby's room.

It was a very special time with friends. I will always treasure the memory of baby's Boston shower.

  1. So sweet and so much cuteness. The basket of books, I LOVE that idea. Seriously genius. What a great idea to decorate in the colors of the nursery so that you can then use them in there. Congrats again.
