A peek at fall trends with Molly

Guess what?! I have a fantastic blog friend to introduce to you today! She's a fashion blogger with a big heart and a sweet sense of style. Molly is currently writing a series on money management that I just adore and today she's hanging out to talk about my very favorite season, fall with the trends she's spotted.

You guys, I am so excited to be over here guest posting for Beth today. Beth is one of the sweetest people I have ever "met" online (I mean that in the least creepy way possible). But seriously she's awesome. So, I was honored when she asked me to guest post for her today!

Moving on.

I am here to talk a little bit about FALL. It's been too dang hot down here in North Carolina - so I've been daydreaming of fall for a while now. There are always trends that come and go (and I'll address those here, too...).

BUT for now, I want to address this outfit.

This outfit you see here is what I call my classic fall outfit. A pair of cuffed jeans, flats, and a classic oxford shirt. I have these Ralph Lauren oxfords in like five colors... I've had them FOREVER. Like, YEARS. A long, long time. They hold up so well and they're just a classic, clean, preppy look.

You can dress them up, dress them down, doesn't matter. They go with EVERYTHING.

Now, let's talk FALL 2012 trends. We're seeing a lot of the spring and summer trends transition into fall (lace, studs, etc.).

I was walking around the mall the other day and stopped into LOFT and took a couple pics of some of their new fall items that show some of the other trends we are seeing.

1. Blouses. Blouses. Blouses. I love blouses, they've been HUGE this summer and of course they are great pieces to go into fall. But the colors are more muted now - lots of greys, blacks, whites, maroons.

2. Animal prints! Who doesn't love a good animal print? I know I do! And we are seeing animal prints EVERYWHERE. And a blouse + animal print? TREND HEAVEN.

3. Shift dresses! Mod-eqsue shift dresses are HUGE. You can wear them with boots, a cardigan, blazer... you name it. OH, and an animal print shift dress? Trendy central.

4. PLEATS. Accordion pleats are not your grandmother's pleats. They're hot. I love them. So classy and lady-like. And a colorblocked, pleated, SHIFT dress? Amazing. Love.
