Last year's word was
give. This year, I chose the word 'ready' to be my
#OneWord365. I have a tendency to put things off, meaning I can be
a bit of a procrastinator. But I don't think it's supposed to be that way. I mean, I feel so accomplished when I just dive in and do something. I hope this word will inspire me to not think of reasons to put something off or tell myself I'm not ready. I know there's a balance between being a yes-man ((or woman in my case)), so I'm not saying I just say 'yes' to everything in my life. I'm telling myself I am
ready and there's no need to put things off.
I also like this word because it fits into one of my favorite Scriptures. A verse that has marked my life, a life of moving from one place to the next that first began with my upbringing as an Air Force brat and one I continued a bit by moving to a new place out of graduate school and then returning to Massachusetts in 2008.
Psalm 84 speaks of readiness and being content where we are. Since so much of my life, has been linked to my location, this Psalm resonates with me.
We
bought a house last spring and now I need to be ready to stay in this place. My mailing address has changed every year since 1999, so staying in one place for more than a year, will be a welcome change...one I am so
ready for!
I am
ready to...
>>be still
>>take on/try new things
>>simplify
>>continue blogging + making new friends
>>listen
What are you ready for this year? Do you have a word of the year?
