weekend in the woods {granite state}

Last weekend we were able to enjoy some time away with friends in New Hampshire.  Over the past couple of years it's become a bit of a tradition to spend a weekend Lake Winnipsaukee in the fall with these friends.  It's one of my favorite events of the season because of the great friends, beautiful scenery and good food.
What more could I ask for?

We spent time catching up, reading.relaxing, knitting/crocheting, playing table tennis/pool, going for a hike in the beautiful changing leaves and eating some delicious homemade food ((who doesn't love friends that can cook well?))

 During our second evening, we got a surprise...or at least something we weren't completely prepared for ((despite weather reports)).  It snowed!  We got several inches, but it also rained. On our way to the highway I was able to capture this photo, which shows just how some areas were completely covered in snow.
Oh, and we accomplished one more thing on our fall to-do list...visiting New Hampshire in the fall!
Have you been able to spend time with friends lately?
