veterans day {tribute}

Today, I'm honoring my grandfathers, Ted and Ed ((how could I resist a post that begins with rhyme?)). They both served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.  One served in England on the Atlantic side and the other flew P-38s in the Pacific.  One was from a small town in Pennsylvania and other was a missionary's kid who grew up in Central America and California.  One spent his career in the Air Force, claiming he chose the shorter line when returning from the war, which ended up being the line to stay in the military.  The other had a career in the Organization of American States while serving in the Air Force Reserve.

I'm proud of my grandfathers and my family's military heritage dating back to the American Revolution.  I hope if you have the day off from work or school, you take a moment to remember those who have served our country and those serving today.
