a bridal shower

I have been just giddy over the decorations for my friend's bridal shower,
but she's one of my loyal followers, so I couldn't really post anything as I made it.
While the bridesmaids discussed what kinds of decorations to go with,
I searched Pinterest for inspiration, keeping the bride in mind.
I knew I had found what I was looking for when I came across re-purposed book pages.
The bride is an avid reader and I loved all the book page flowers + pinwheels I saw.
The shower was outside at relative's lakeside home,
and thankfully the rain held off, while the sun didn't get too intense.
As you can see from the photos, it was lovely setting indeed
and our handmade decorations gave it a personal touch.
{centerpieces}
jars [in various sizes]
twine
tissue paper
paper doilies
empty root beer bottles [one of the bride's favorite things]
pinwheels made from book pages
{garland}
card stock
book pages
twine
cupcake wrappers [the bride loves to bake]
hot glue

{menu}
lemonade, iced tea + water
chips, salsa + guacamole
spinach + artichoke dip
cape cod potato chips with french onion dip
veggie tray with blue cheese dressing or hummus
walnut, cranberry + goat cheese salad
black bean quinoa citrus salad
grilled steak tips + chicken
apple pie + apple cake with vanilla ice cream

Throughout the week, I'll be sharing a bit more about the decorations.

What did you do over the weekend?
