meatballs with meat sauce
ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef (lean) or ground turkey
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
1/2 c. bread crumbs
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp. italian seasoning
1 tsp. dried [or fresh] basil
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1/2 package thin spaghetti
1 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese
directions:
combine half pound of ground meat with breadcrumbs, garlic,
italian seasoning, basil and salt. mix by hand.
once the meat and seasoning is well-mixed, you'll
shape the meat into rounded spheres, about 1" in diameter.
it should make about 12-15 meatballs.
heat olive oil in frying pan on stove top over medium-high heat.
cook meatballs for about 15-20 min. or until entirely brown outside.
add remaining meat to pan and brown.
pour pasta sauce [i used barilla's spicy marinara]
over meat and cover, let summer for 15 min on low.
bring water to boil on stove top for pasta
& cook according to package directions.
[check one of the meatballs to make sure it's fully cooked]
serve meatballs with meat sauce over drained pasta
& top with grated parmesan!
